Local Wildlife

Northeastern New Mexico offers an abundance of native wildlife including elk, mule deer, wild turkey, beaver, coyote, and Canadian geese. Cottonwood, aspen, and black willow trees line the banks of the Mora River, creating a special setting in which to appreciate the many species that thrive on it.

Additionally, we operate our cattle grazing program with respect to the animals that live here year round, leaving plenty of grasses and forage for the elk that reside through the winter.
